Do you enjoy conflict?

Full Transcript: Hi, I’m Kent, and I have a question: Do you enjoy conflict? On the one hand, you may recoil at the thought, thinking that you do NOT enjoy it when you have to confront someone or when you know someone is disagreeing with you. But what if the conflict isn't YOUR conflict? Do you enjoy the juicy drama of nice feud? Celebrities dissing celebrities? Candidates bickering? Sports rivalries? Coke vs Pepsi? I’d like to tell you about one of my favorites, it's a tale of two colors: the blackest black and the pinkest pink, although the feud isn't between colors, but between artists. An artist named Anish Kapoor bought the rights to a color called blackest black - it's so dark it absorbs 90% of light - so that nobody else can use it. Another artist, Stuart Semple, was so annoyed at this, that in response he created a color called the pinkest pink. He sells that color as cheaply as possible to anyone who wants it...except, of course, Anish Kapoor. In fact, if you buy pinkest pink, you have a sign a waiver agreeing that you'll never share it with Anish Kapoor. It's genuinely funny, petty, and very human, and that's a little problematic. We weren't built for conflict, but we certainly seem good at it. Let's take a look at some of the reasoning behind our proclivity to conflict - and to be petty and unkind in the midst of that disagreement - and see how God might lead us in a better direction.
